Nominations for the GRI Stakeholder Council

​​Applicants are invited to apply for membership on the GRI Stakeholder Council.

Responsibilities of the Stakeholder Council include, but are not limited to

  • Serving as a sounding board for the Supervisory Board, the Management Board, and the Global Sustainability Standards Board regarding important key strategic issues facing GRI
  • Providing recommendations to the Supervisory Board, Management Board, and Global Sustainability Standards Board in achieving GRI’s strategic objectives, in particular, regarding:
    • Mainstreaming GRI Standards by unlocking the value of reporting, creating a seamless global reporting system and enhancing sustainability reporting practices worldwide,
    • Ensuring GRI’s continued relevance in the context of the evolving international sustainable development and reporting landscape,
    • Driving innovation and continuous improvement to ensure that GRI, its products and services, and its way of doing business are fit for the future and effective, and
    • Fostering a multi-stakeholder approach in the activities and organization of GRI.
  • Focusing on the interests of GRI in the short and long-term and considering the interests of GRI’s stakeholders

Applicants are invited to apply (self-nominated) or can be nominated by third parties for membership on the GRI Stakeholder Council:

  • This Nomination form
  • Cover letter
  • The latest version of the candidate's CV
  • The Employer Statement, if the nominee is employed (not self-employed)*
*Please upload this signed statement from the candidate’s employer/organization in which it is stated they agree with the candidate’s nomination to the Stakeholder Council and that as a Stakeholder Council member they will share their own professional knowledge and expertise and not to represent their employer’s/ organization’s perspective regarding GRI-related matters. (Please use the provided Employer Statement form, print it, sign and attach below)

Applicants may be asked to provide references on request.‌‌
Completed applications consisting of 1) this Nomination Form, 2) Cover letter, 3) CV, and 4) Employer Statement (if applicable) must be submitted to GRI before Sunday 6 July 2025 23:59 CEST. Please send any questions by email to governance@globalreporting.org
